Born in Mexico City, Mariana Sereno drew a pelican at the impressionable age of five and showed her parents her accomplishment with absolute pride. On a trip with her family to the Getty Museum just five years later, she would discover her ultimate direction in life, art.

She would grow up drawing inspiration mainly through music from the likes of Bjork and Radiohead, so much that her first painting was based on “There, There,” the music video from Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief. Mariana would go on to be involved in numerous art competitions, finishing top in the V.A.S.E. San Antonio Regional Art competition and an honorary winner in the State Art Competition in Houston.

She would venture ahead to start her own small business, Lingering High, a space where she incorporates many art forms such as graphic design, paintings and storytelling. Her current inspirations are works from Maurice Sendak, Arnold Lobel, and Leonora Carrington. She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas.
